lose to the cemetry of Ruffano, unfolds a road of sheep tracks and pathways, that lead uphill towards the top, reaching a panoramic balcony overlooking the valley woodlands, covered in silver-colour by olive trees. We are at a small Church of the Madonna della Serra and at the statue of Jesus Christ the Saviour, where a bell that once chimed vespers, called all peasants of the valley.
A long walk through the woods evocates in us a kind of “via crucis” (way of the cross) as we continue along the hill track greenly covered, in memory of the pilgrims, along a steep, small and unsurfaced road that passes through the ridge of the hill.
The evocative path, also called “via misteriosa” (mystique way) where the Way of the Cross that takes place during the Lent observance period, and is named after the flora of the Mediterranean woods.
