Medium physical strength is required, therefore a certain amount of exercise is needed mainly for the un-surfaced tracts. The places visited are amongst the most interesting of Salento, thanks to the presence of numerous caves and of the bauxite terrain. Furthermore, the human settlements in the area of the Serre of Poggiardo are very ancient and it is proved by findings in the area of Santi Stefani, in the  Warriors Park and in Fondo Giuliano. Furthermore, even the farms are numerous and they are spread in a very varied  environment, characterized by woodlands, pine forests, olive yards (very famous is the area called “La Falca”). The ride starts from the Warriors park, near the head office of IAT of Poggiardo/Vaste headed towards the archaeological area, the educational arboretum, the woodlands, the cave area, Specchia Gallone (a fraction of Minervino of Lecce), to then return to the point of start-off. The route is 20km long to be covered in a medium of 1hr and 30mins (time calculated without stops). The itinerary can also be done in phases among the towns involved (Poggiardo/Vaste – Minervino of Lecce/Specchia Gallone), in order to make it viable for inexperienced cyclists.
